Christian Bale may be playing Batman in Man of Steel 2 after all, according to the latest casting rumors.

It was previously assumed that Bale would not reprise his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne after completing The Dark Knight Rises, but a new report may suggest otherwise.

According to a new eBook called Beyond Batman: The Unauthorized True Story of Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma by Vince Russel, Bale may put on the cape one more time for Man of Steel 2.

Bale was allegedly offered $50 million to play Batman again, according to the Beyond Batman publisher. Bale has not commented on this claim, nor have any studio executives at Warner Bros., but if it is true, the offer may be too much to refuse.

"Christian Bale's experience as the Batman of our generation is about to prove more inescapable than he expected," Russel wrote in the summary of the book. "With three of the most successful Batman films in Hollywood history under his belt, Christian Bale is now facing extraordinary pressure to become The Dark Knight once more."

The author says that the offer to play Batman would be for the upcoming Justice League movie, but Warner Bros. would likely try to ensure Bale for Man of Steel 2 to maintain some consistency.
