Netizens Livid After Blake Lively Misses Met Gala 2024

It's the second time Blake Lively skipped the Met Gala but netizens are still looking for her.

In 2023, the "Age of Adaline" actress and husband Ryan Reynolds missed attending the event because Lively had just given birth to their fourth child and was engaged in motherhood tasks such as breastfeeding.

This year, fans were anticipating her return to the famed museum steps, especially since she's always been a fan favorite. However, to their dismay, the star was again MIA from the high-profile charity event.

Lively was reportedly not able to make it to the gala for a second time in a row because she's in Italy filming "A Simple Favor 2," according to E! News.

With another absence from the annual event, fans were quick to turn to social media, making Blake Lively trend on X (formerly Twitter) as they posted witty remarks about the actress.

"Somebody call Blake Lively up and tell her to run. She's the only one who can save us from this disaster," tweeted one netizen.

"Isn't the owner of the Met Gala going? So, you can kind of cancel now, the Met Gala isn't Met Gala without Blake Lively," quipped another user.

"The Met Gala can't be over yet 'cause where's Blake Lively?" said a different commenter.

Even IMDb posted an appreciation post for the mom of four and compiled some of her best looks, tweeting, "An appreciation post for every time Blake Lively understood the #MetGala assignment. Happy first Monday to all who celebrate."

When one entertainment account asked fans what their favorite Met Gala look of all time was, many responded with Blake's 2021 and 2022 red carpet looks.

"Still one of the best Met Gala looks of all time as Blake Lively straight up ate with [these ones]," tweeted an X user.

For now, it's all left to the imagination of the fans what the actress would have worn for this year's Met Gala theme, "The Garden of Time," if she attended.
