A popular Argentinian travel influencer was found dead just hours after getting accused of possessing child porn pornography.

YouTube and Instagram star Leonel Esteban Borroni, 40, was discovered dead by a relative at his home in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires on May 17, the New York Post reported.

Police reports obtained by local outlet La Nación said Borroni was found hanging in his bathroom.

An official cause of death has not yet been released, but authorities believe the influencer died by suicide, unnamed police sources told the outlet.

Borroni reportedly left goodbye messages for his loved ones on his cell phone, in which he wrote that he was "depressed" about the child sex abuse probe.

Before his passing, law enforcement raided the social media personality's residence on May 16 and allegedly found explicit content featuring minors in his electronic devices.

According to the New York Post, he was not arrested at the time of the raid. However, the U.S. Sun suggested that he was taken into custody and then bailed out at some point before the discovery of his body.

Borroni appeared in front of a judge on May 17. He was informed he was under investigation as part of an ongoing human trafficking and sex abuse probe and questioned about the material allegedly discovered in his home, according to The U.S. Sun.

The YouTuber reportedly refused to answer questions about the material.

Borroni had not been formally indicted with any crime at the time of his death.

According to the outlet, he was believed to have faced charges of possession and illegal distribution of child pornography.

Borroni was not accused of participating in the production of the material, which allegedly included victims under 13 being sexually abused by adults.

Argentinian law enforcement launched the investigation after receiving a tip-off from a U.S.-based agency about a group producing child pornography in the South American nation.

Six other adults, including a schoolteacher, were taken into custody as part of the probe.

At the time of his death, Borroni had over 160,000 followers on Instagram, 137,000 on TikTok and more than 140,000 subscribers across two channels on YouTube, where he went by the name Un Leon Viajero, which translates in English to "a lion traveler."

A seemingly scheduled video content was posted on his YouTube channel on May 20. It showed him traveling by motorcycle in Suriname, South America's smallest country.

Borroni's other recent posts revealed that he also went on trips to Ecuador and Venezuela.
