Victoria's Secret released a statement recently debunking a United Kingdom report that said One Direction will perform at the brand's annual fashion show.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be held November in New York City. A source reportedly told The Sun that the boy band is slated to perform during the runway show, which last year hosted musical performances by Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. 

"Their global superstar status will be solidified with this booking," a source told the publication. "Bigwigs at the Victoria's Secret and the television network CBS, which broadcasts the show, have been having meetings with the band and management. It's being said they pretty much have it in the bag as they were sold on their personalities."

Zayn Malik Almost Kicked Out of One Direction? 

After claims of 1D's performance surfaced on the Internet, Victoria's Secret set the record straight in an official statement, according to Hollywood Life. 

"The recent reports regarding One Direction appearing in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are untrue. The band is not performing in this year's show. We will announce our artists in early October."

One Direction's representative also denied the claims by saying there is no truth to the story, the news report noted.

The band - made up of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan - attended the NYC premiere of their film documentary This Is Us on Monday. Malik and his long-time girlfriend, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, went public with their engagement at the film's premiere in London. Malik proposed on Aug. 18 and at the London event on Aug. 20 Edwards was seen wearing a huge diamond ring on her ring finger. 

The band's rep and Edwards' mother confirmed the engagement.
