Now that Kristen Stewart has returned from Germany, her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson has reportedly come up with a clever way to reconnect with her.

A friend of the Cosmpolis actor revealed he intends to suggest a "doggie play date" with Stewart and  their dogs Bear and Bernie, whom they previously shared. According to the source, he will use it an excuse because he is "clearly not over Kristen."

"When he saw a recent photograph of Kristen, he smiled and said she was wearing his baseball hat. It's just so obvious," a friend of Pattinson's told Hollywood Life.

The insider also slipped that Pattinson has been secretly  inquiring about his ex since they split in May. He won't admit that he still has strong feelings for Stewart. The former couple dated off-and-on for four years before they split in May. According to multiple reports, he had not fully forgiven her for cheating on him last year with her married film director Rupert Sanders. Sanders directed Stewart in 2012's Snow White & The Huntsman.

"He will ask about her, but really nonchalantly because he doesn't want anyone to know he still has strong feelings for her," added the insider. "Rob still loves Kristen."

When Pattinson moved out of Stewart's Los Feliz home on May 19, he was driving a pickup truck with their two dogs, Bear and Bernie.

News that Pattinson would like to reconnect with her confirms an earlier claim that he is "simply not over Kristen" despite dating model Dylan Penn.

"He misses her. He misses their friendship," a friend of Pattinson's told Hollywood Life. "Rob likes Dylan, but spending time with her has actually made him miss Kristen even more."

Earlier reports claimed Pattinson was dating Penn because she reminded him of Stewart.

"One of the reasons Rob likes Dylan so much is because of her quirky sense of humor," another friend of the actor told Hollywood Life. "It's funny because that's what Rob liked so much about Kristen - her sense of humor. Rob also likes the fact that Dylan is so into music, all kinds of music," the friend revealed. "Like Kristen, Dylan certainly walks to the beat of her own drum."

News that the British heartthrob severed ties with the rising model may not come as a shock to his friends-it was previously reported that he never intended to have a long-term romance with Dylan.

"This really came out of left field for Rob," an insider told Hollywood Life. "He wasn't looking or expecting any kind of long term romance."
