Katy Perry is on the cover of the November issue of W magazine where she spoke about her beau John Mayer and her hit single Roar.

"I actually am dating my crush," she told the magazine. "I had a crush on him for a long time, and it just so happens we fit together great."

The 28-year-old also revealed that she always cries when she's on an airplane, something that she and Mayer call "deprivation tubes."

"You have a glass of wine, and you're watching a movie, and then, wahhhh," she added.

Mayer and Perry began dating in August 2012, following the songstress' divorce from comedian/actor Russell Brand earlier that year. The couple split in March but rekindled a few months later.

Aside from her love life, Perry also spoke about her single Roar, which shot to No. 1 on Billboard when it was released in September. The song appears on her upcoming fourth studio album, Prism.

"This song is about sticking up for yourself," Perry said. "People talk about bullying, but you can be your own bully in some ways. You can be the person who is standing in the way of your success, and that was the case for me. I was having a great professional streak, but personally, I was really immature, so I had to balance those things out."

While she didn't specify what exactly was holding her back from reaching success, she added, "If you are not happy with something, you should change it. So I went to a lot of therapy, and finally, I am able to speak up for myself: You are going to hear me roar!"
