The writer of Loki: Agent of Asgard revealed that Loki was bisexual and also possessed the ability to switch genders via his Tumblr blog.

Comic-book scribe Al Ewing and artist Lee Garbett are working on the new Marvel series that sets the Thor and Avengers villain as the protagonist. The series won't be out until early next year but Ewing seems to be already whetting fans' appetites by giving away juicy details about the anti-hero.

On Oct. 24, Ewing engaged fans in a Q&A about the upcoming film on Tumblr, and of the many answers he gave, the most revealing might have been not only the fact that Loki was actually bisexual:

"Yes, Loki is bi and I'll be touching on that," he wrote.

But that he will also be adept at gender swapping.

"He'll shift between genders occasionally as well," Ewing added.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, while describing Loki, Ewing suggested that fans would be made privy to completely new facets of Loki's character. "Loki isn't the old self, emphasis on old, that he used to be. He's as adult as, say, Kate Bishop a young man of stolen wealth and varied taste with the universe as his oyster and a penchant for black nail varnish," he said.

He also stated that Thor would be dead at the start of the series.

Loki is played by Tom Hiddleston in Thor: The Dark World and the Avengers films.

Thor: The Dark World will hit theaters on Nov. 8.
