John Mayer and his girlfriend Unconditional Love singer, Katy Perry are still going strong and could be making their relationship permanent.

A source told E! News an engagement between the couple is "inevitable." They added, "Everyone wants them to get engaged. They are so perfect together."

The couple haven't been keeping their relationship under wraps since going public in August of 2012. If the source is correct, this will be the second marriage for Perry who tied the knot with funny guy Russell Brand before divorcing in February 2012.

Mayer is also said to be ring shopping for his potential future bride.

In September, she opened up about her split with Brand and said the pain was so rough she wondered if she should "continue living." She explained it in her song By The Grace Of God and told Billboard magazine, "That song is evident of how tough it was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure?"

But now she's much better and is not afraid to gush about her boyfriend publicly.

She also told Billboard he is a "genius" and said , "I always tell [John], darling, you know I'm going to have to give your mind to science after you've passed, because we're going to have to understand how all these sparks work."

The Roar singer also told W magazine for their November issue, "I actually am dating my crush. I had a crush on him for a long time."
