Basketball star Dennis Rodman has been sentenced in court today for failing to pay child support. Rodman, 51, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, has been ordered by the Orange County Superior Court to perform 104 hours of community service. The NBA star was found guilty last year of four counts of failing to pay child support. He was also placed on three years of informal probation.

He is accused of not paying back child support for his third ex-wife Michelle Rodman. The amount is nearly $800,000 but Rodman's lawyer Linnea Willis said he owes far less than that. Another hearing for outstanding child support disputes and contempt charges is set for June 22.

Rodman hopes to do his community service by working with "at-risk youth",  according to Fox News.

Rodman and Michelle have two kids. Rodman apparently filed court papers in March citing that he was broke and unable to pay more than the child support he was already providing.

Rodman played for the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. He also played for the Detroit Pistons and won three NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA star was previously married to Carmen Electra for a few months and dated Madonna. He was known for his Technicolor hair, body piercings and tattos.
