Dominic Monaghan has accused his "Lost" co-star Matthew Fox of beating women. It all happened when a female fan asked Monaghan if he can persuade Matthew Fox to join Twitter.

The fan tweeted: "holla at matthew fox and tell him to get a twitter i beg of you". Monaghan replied by tweeting: "He beats women. No thanks."

Angry fans of Fox tweeted back: "Spreading an accusation that EVEN eww-TMZ didn't make... How classy. Hope Matthew Fox sues you for defamation." Another fan tweeted: "He knows nothing, he's just spreading rumors based on TMZ (!), hates Matthew Fox for personal reasons & bashes him."

However, Monaghan's last tweet to them was: "It's very difficult to sue someone for speaking the truth."

It is not known whether Monaghan or Fox had a sour relationship on the set of show. According to TMZ, the guys haven't spoken to each other for many years but were not known to have had an argument. Sources close to Fox told TMZ that Matthew has never beaten a woman in his life.

Matthew Fox was charged with driving under the influence after he was pulled over earlier this month for a traffic violation. The "Lost" actor, was charged with DUI and driving without a license, according to People.

He has been married to his wife Margherita Ronchi for 20 years and have two children together.

Last year, Fox reportedly punched a female bus driver in the groin outside of Christie's Cabaret in Cleveland, Ohio. Prosecutors did not press charges but a civil suit related to the incident has been filed.
