"Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester sued her own mother and won. The 26-year-old actress filed a lawsuit against her mother, claiming that she diverted the money she sent to her little brother and used it for plastic surgery and hair extensions instead, reported TMZ.

Meester reportedly sent $7,500 a month to cover expenses for her younger brother Lex, who suffers from severe medical issues. But her mother, Constance Meester, used the dosh from her daughter to treat herself to cosmetic procedures. Her mother tried to convince the judge that she had a contract with her daughter to get $10,000 each month, which Leighton claimed is a lie.

"Gossip Girl" has been renewed to continue for one more season. However, the show will only have eleven episodes in its sixth and final season. The hit teen show stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley.

The American teen drama which airs on the CW is based on the book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. The executive producers of the show are Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Bob Levy, Leslie Morgenstein, John Stephens and Joshua Safran. Safran recently departed the show and will be replaced by Sara Goodman.
