Danica McKellar, who starred as Winnie Cooper in the TV series "The Wonder Years," filed for divorce from her husband of three years, composer Mike Verta.

McKellar, 37, filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court citing "irreconcilable differences," according to celebrities' site TMZ.com.

McKellar and Verta married in 2009 and have a son Draco who will turn 2 in September. She is seeking joint custody, according to the Associated Press.

According to McKellar, the couple has a prenuptial agreement.

McKellar also wrote the popular books "Math Doesn't Suck," "Kiss My Math" and "Hot X: Algebra Exposed."

McKellar played Gwendolyn "Winnie" Cooper, the main love interest of Kevin Arnold (played by Fred Savage) on the "Wonder Years."

The actress also had a role in the film Sidekicks, directed by Aaron Norris and appeared in several episodes of "The West Wing."
