The investigation into Justin Bieber's altercation with paparazzi last month has been handed over to prosecutors by the Los Angeles Sherrif's Department. According to Celebuzz, it is now up to the District Attorney's office whether charges will be pressed against the singer.

The alleged altercation took place on May 28 outside a shopping mall in Calabasas, California.  Bieber allegedly attacked Jose Sarros, who told Celebuzz, "I don't have a lawyer - yet. The report that I spoke to a lawyer is a lie. But I cannot talk more about what happened."

Sarros alleges that he had been struck in the face during the scuffle by the 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer. Paramedics were called to the scene of the altercation and Sarros was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released shortly.

According to a witness, paparazzi were blocking Bieber's car, preventing him from leaving, which angered the singer. Bieber reportedly got out and the altercation began.

TMZ also reported that after the incident, a lawyer approached the photographer and suggested he could get a lot of money by calling for an ambulance and filing a police report.

Meanwhile, Bieber's latest album "Believe" was finally released yesterday. He is currently on a promotional tour for his new album.
