Rielle Hunter broke the news Tuesday morning that she is no longer dating John Edwards.

Hunter, 48 talked about the breakup on ABC's Good Morning America which she visited to promote her tell-all book "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter and Me" hitting stands today.

"We are a family, but as of the end of last week, John Edwards and I are no longer a couple," Hunter told George Stephanopoulos. "We decided together to end it," she said.

When asked if she still loved him, Hunter replied "I do."

The sudden split comes a week after Hunter told People magazine that she was still seeing Edwards.

Photographers spotted the two of them and their 4-year-old daughter Quinn together during Father's Day weekend at a North Carolina beach house. In the pictures Hunter and Edwards appear laughing and he kisses her in the cheek as she enters a car.

Hunter also told GMA that their relationship ended due to the pressure from the media who kept them in the spotlight since their affair came to light in 2008 when Edwards was running for the presidencial nomination and was married to Elizabeth Edwards.

"I don't know if you've noticed, but we've had a lot of media scrutiny. It's complicated and it's hard. It wears you down after a while," Hunter said.

"We'll see what happens," she said. "I have no plans."
