On Sunday, TMZ posted a video with the original film's director, Richard Donner, who revealed some important information about Spielberg being a part of the sequel. Donner was then asked if Steven would be involved, and the director responded, "Of course."

Spielberg Details With Jurassic World?

The director said some more about the upcoming film, which sounds like something he's looking forward to.

"Hopefully we're going to get this done. Period," Donner said.

The director then revealed that it was actually Spielberg is the one who had the plan to make a second film for The Goonies.

"Steven came up with the idea of doing a sequel after 30 years," Donner said.

Apparently, he and Steven have been trying to make a sequel for a while until Spielberg came up with a new storyline.

The director was then asked if Josh Brolin or anyone else in the cast were making any plans to be in the film.

"God knows, it's up to them," Donner said. "If they have any sense, they will, if they won't, they won't."

There doesn't seem to be any word on a release date for the film, but it will likely come out in 2015, 30 years after the original.
