Actress Emily Blunt may be joining up with the all star cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, according to new rumors.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice NOT A Man of Steel Sequel?

Blunt is rumored to be joining Batman v Superman, according to a new report by El Multicine, though the validity of this rumor is not certain. Blunt can be seen in the upcoming Tom Cruise blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow, in which she plays a Special Forces soldier.

It is rare for Blunt to appear in big blockbusters, but the actress may be trying to branch out to reach a broader audience. She is famous for her roles in The Devil Wears Prada, The Young Victoria and The Five-Year Engagement.

Ben Affleck Bulking Up For Batman Role With 'Stud Of A Trainer?'

Production on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is allegedly underway in Detroit but it is still possible that some roles are still being filled. Assuming Blunt is actually in the film, it would make things very even as far as gender, but it would also add yet another star to the mix, which would put the film at the risk of being overstuffed.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's butler. Additionally, Holly Hunter is set to star as a new character, though rumors are stating that she will play a "female Alfred" type of character.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
