Kristin Chenoweth has been released from the hospital after getting hit in the head by a lighting fixture while onset of the legal drama "The Good Wife."

"Kristin has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. She thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes." A rep for the actress released in a statement.

The actress was taken to a hospital in New York after sustaining a head injury while filming.

Kristin was allegedly hit in the head with a piece of lighting equipment that bucked because of strong winds. She was treated on the set before being rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ.com.

It is reported that Kristin instantly fell to the floor after being struck, and smacked her head on the concrete ground as she collapsed.

A called to 911 was made around 5:07 p.m., in regards to a woman who had been hit in the head by a scaffold.

Witnesses say the Brooklyn location is a breeding ground for robust winds.

"That area is a vortex for wind ... and a big gust of wind blew the lighting off the scaffolding," a source told TMZ.

According to the witness, Kristin was in obvious need of medical treatment, claiming she was hit "square in the head" and appeared to be "knocked out cold." She goes on to tell TMZ, "I thought she was dead at first."

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they immediately started treatment for the actress. They began by putting her in a neck brace and carrying her out on a stretcher. From there, she was swiftly taken from the set, and admitted to a hospital.

A rep for the New York Fire Dept. told TMZ that Kristin is being treated for "minor injuries" as a result from the accident.

This isn't the first time the actress has been injured while working on a set. In 2003, she injured her back while rehearsing for the pre-Broadway engagement of "Wicked".

Then, just three years later, she fell off an uprooted section of the stage during a rehearsal of the newly revised Broadway "The Apple Tree."

Her most recent injury took place in 2011, when Kristin hurt her back on the set of "Glee" when she toppled down a set of concrete stairs.
