Michael Cera, known for Juno and his stint on Arrested Development, released his own surprise solo folk album on August 8.

'This Is The End' Box Office Prediction for Weekend: Comedy Opens with $7.8 Million, $30+ Million Projected Gross [TRAILER]

The album, entitled True That, was released through his personal Bandcamp account. Bandcamp is an online website where bands can post their music for others to buy and download. Cera explores playing different instruments such as the guitar, harmonica, piano, synthesizers and even sings a few songs on his album.

The songs are incredibly lo-fi (meaning they are not professionally mastered) but showcase a lot of talent. The song What Gives... (I Can't Live Like This) features an eerie experimental atmosphere with Cera's voice dubbing over. The bass guitar is playing notes at a very rapid pace, showing off his skill with the instrument. The actor was the bass guitarist for his band in the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Where Michael Cera really shines is his cover of Blaze Foley's song Clay Pigeons. The vocal harmonies are spot on, showing off how well Cera can sing.

'Arrested Development' Movie Before Season 5?

It should not be a surprise that the actor would ever create a folk album, because in 2008 when he released his own personal playlist to the world, folk bands such as Big Star and Van Morrison were featured. The song Ruth from Cera's album is an original folk song featuring guitars and even a harmonica. Cera's shaky delivery to the vocals adds a lot of emotion to the otherwise dry song. 2048 is a instrumental featuring soothing music.

Maybe the album will gather enough attention to lead to a tour, True That is worth a listen.
