Actress Amy Adams gracefully covers the December issues of Vogue and talks perseverance, overcoming a meltdown and learning to love and live life.

Life may seem picture perfect for Amy, who is currently engaged to fiancé Darren Le Gallo and mother to a gorgeous daughter, but the Her actress tells the magazine that life was not always as charming as it may appear.

Adams, who's starred in films like Catch Me If You Can, Julie and Julia, and Man of Steel has been nominated for five Academy Awards and has received a lot of critical acclaim.

Adams may be an A-Lister now, but she tells Vogue Magazine that it definitely wasn't easy. She recalls trying to break into the entertainment industry, and she admits that she was a "mess." Saying that "to this day it gives me perspective, but going through it was painful, to say the least.'

That wasn't the only painful event Adams had to endure, the A-list actress who recently turned 40 in August says that just before her birthday she had a little meltdown.

"I was like, 'I'm 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don't do laundry so I'm always out of thing; I'm just not a grown-up at all.'"

While the actress has endured many obstacles, she says that she doesn't want to be stagnant stop growing. Adams admits to the magazine that she has been operating out of fear and she wants to put an end to it now.

Fortunately, she knows how to take a step back and really evaluate her life.

"Every time I get stressed out or anxious, I say to myself, just life and love. Feel love. I think that's what I took way from my turning-40 meltdown."

Viewers can catch Amy on big screens in the new film Big Eyes set to hit theaters nation-wide on Christmas Day.
