Sylvester Stallone's half-sister, Toni-Ann Filiti has died. Filiti lost her battle with lung and liver cancer and passed away on Sunday, Aug.26 at the home of their mother Jackie Stallone.

"She passed away last night and it was somewhat expected," a family member told Radar Online exclusively. "After being in the ICU she decided she wanted to die in the house so she could spend time with her family."

This is the second tragedy for Stallone this summer. The "Expendables 2" star is still mourning the loss of his son Sage Stallone. The 36-year-old was found dead in his home in Los Angeles on July 13.

Filiti, 48, decided to leave the Intensive Care Unit at her local hospital to spend her final days with family. Stallone's mother Jackie told the New York Post before Filiti's passing that they were still hoping for a miracle to keep her alive.

"She is conscious and responsive sometimes, but not really," she said. "What we need is a miracle. I still believe there are miracles; it is the only thing that keeps you going.I always think some miracle will happen, and she will wake up and this is all a bad dream. I want her with us until the last hour. She looks beautiful lying there. But her condition is critical."

"I am doing terrible after having my grandson go, then my daughter [critical] at 48 years old. It isn't easy. I don't know what to do," she added.

Stallone, 66, recently appeared on "Good Morning America" to promote his latest film "Expendables 2." When asked how was he coping with the loss of his son, he replied "It's tough it's very, very, tough.'"

The actor revealed that his wife, family, friends and promoting his latest movie has helped keep him busy.

"Expendables 2" has landed the no. 1 spot at the box office for a second weekend in a row.  After ten days in theaters, it has grossed $52.3 million.
