Carrie Underwood has been talking a lot about motherhood lately, but her husband Mike Fisher is just as excited about his own journey to fatherhood.

Carrie Underwood Refuses To Give Up Makeup After Son Is Born

"I think it's going to be awesome," the NHL's Nashville Predators star told The Tennessean on Thursday.

"I've always tried to balance things out in life," added the 34-year-old Fisher. "I think that's important, and obviously kids are going to add a different dynamic that I can't wait for."

Why Carrie Underwood Might Be Planning A Creative Birth Announcement

Having announced the pregnancy in September, Underwood revealed in November that she and Fisher are expecting a baby boy. Pregnancy has been a completely new experience for Underwood and the 31-year-old Little Toy Guns singer has admitted to experiencing a few emotional moments. Overall, however, the pregnancy has been a pretty steady ride.

"[She's] having a good pregnancy," said Fisher. "Everything has been going great so we're blessed that way and praying everything will go well for the next little bit."

Underwood and Fisher have spent a great deal of time at their home in Nashville preparing for the baby's birth, though they've yet to decide on a name. While they've playfully quarreled over calling their son "Fly Fisher", the two will have to start considering real names pretty soon.

Underwood is expected to give birth to their baby boy this spring. For the time being, the singer and her husband have chosen to keep the precise due date out of the media.
