Katie Holmes has made a new rule for herself regarding her dating life: actors are off the list.

Although it is rumored that she is not ready to settle down just yet in another serious relationship, a source confirmed that the former "Dawson's Creek" actress, 33, is stepping away from industry relationships.

"Katie doesn't want to tie herself down just yet, but she says she's done going out with actors," a source explained to Radar Online. "Her previous relationships with Joshua [Jackson], Chris [Klein] and Tom [Cruise] didn't work out, so she thinks she should look away from her own profession."

The same source also mentioned a new type that Holmes might be interested in, one that her fashion business partner, Jeanne Yang, can help her out with.

"Jeanne Yang, her business partner for the Holmes & Yang fashion label, has taken Katie to some art gallery openings recently and she's met tons of interesting artists," the source said. "She's been saying now that if she does date anyone, it could be someone who works in the arts world. Katie's more interested in the quiet life now and an unassuming artist would fit the bill perfectly for when she's ready."

MSN News reported last week that another source, who is said to be close to Holmes, revealed that the starlet hates being single. In the meantime, the "Batman Begins" actress is focusing on raising her daughter Suri in New York City, her fashion line Holmes & Yang and also some acting roles. In June, it was announced that she would star in the romantic-comedy "Responsible Adults," alongside "Gossip Girl" actor Chace Crawford.

Holmes divorced Tom Cruise this past August after six years of marriage. She has recently relocated from California to New York, where she lives with her daughter.
