Moviegoers could be treated to more singing from Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick.

The 27-year-old is reportedly in talks to feature as Cinderella in Disney's forthcoming adaptation of Into The Woods, according to Variety.

First debuted on Broadway in 1987, the Sondheim musical is being produced by Disney for the big screen. Already billed for the film is an all-star cast comprising Johnny Depp (The Lone Ranger), Meryl Streep (Hope Springs), Jake Gyllenhaal (End of Watch), and Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness).

Following Variety's release of their article, Looper writer Rian Johnson tweeted Kendrick telling her not to mess it up or he will have to murder her.

"If I f--k it up I'll do the job for you! :-) I'll meet you at the Golden Gate Bridge ;-) You bring some rope! haha :-|" Kendrick replied.

The musical revolves around the wishes of three characters - Cinderella, Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk), and a baker and his wife who seemingly cannot have children. As the story moves on, the audience finds out what becomes of these wishes while the characters interact with various fairytale beings.

Kendrick would play opposite her prince, who will be portrayed by Pine, according to EW.

The Rob Marshall (Chicago) directed film is due to be released on Christmas Day, 2014.
