Fans have been waiting for what seems like forever for news about Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, and finally, one of the film's stars has given a brief update about why things have been going so slowly with the movie's development.

Ratings Snafu Delays 'Blue Mountain State' Movie

After countless delays following a lack of funding despite a successful Kickstarter campaign, followed by other problems getting the film a general audience-friendly rating, fans began to wonder if the film was still going to be released anytime soon after a trailer failed to surface. As such, many took to the movie's Facebook page over recent weeks to ask what was going on with the movie and why it appeared as though things had stalled yet again.

However, despite countless questions from fans about the film's status there appeared to be few updates.

Now, Alan Ritchson, who reprises his role as Thad Castle in the film, has updated fans on Twitter about the upcoming trailer, though he was unable to announce a release date.

Will 'BMS' The Movie Be Released This Fall?

"We're working on getting together the most epic trailer ever together for @bmsthemoive #TheRiseofThadland . We'll have something for you fans soon!" he wrote Aug, 21.

The update comes two months after fans were told that the delay on the movie had been a result of the MPAA trying to slap an NC-17 rating on it-causing some extra edits to be made in order to bring it down to an R rating.

There is still no official release date for the film.
