Legends of Tomorrow's Phil Klemmer wasn't kidding when he said Booster Gold was being "groomed for bigger things." Rip Hunter's dad will jump straight to the big screen with a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle film from Warner Bros.

DC is known for its gritty, serious spin on the superhero world, but the comic book magnate will take a page from the MCU and drop a healthy dose of comedy into the double-barreled hero debut.

"In a massively different approach from Warner's current slate, the film will team the two heroes together in what's being pitched as a superhero buddy cop movie," Tacking Board announced on Thursday.

Arrow and The Flash's executive producer Greg Berlanti will spearhead the upcoming project. Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle may find themselves prepped for a future Justice Leauge film as well, Tracking Board reported.

It is unknown if the duo will ever drop into the DC television universe, but it seems unlikely. Unlike Marvel, DC keeps its live action series and its feature films distinctly separate. Klemmer, however, left the door open in recent statements.

"I wish I could tease a Booster thing but, you might have to wait a good long while at least on our show," Klemmer teased, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There is currently no projected release date for the film. In the meantime, check out Booster's son in the following trailer for Legends of Tomorrow.
