Filmmaker David Lynch is working on a nonfiction book which will be parts memoir and parts biography.

The director will be collaborating with journalist Kristine McKenna, who has been written about Lynch since the 1970s.

According to a report by the New York Times, Lynch will essentially contribute to the more personal aspects of the project, describing his internal creative process and struggles, along with his friendships. McKenna will be sourcing a lot of old interviews with the filmmaker for the biographical facet of the book.

The book will be titled, Life & Work, and wil be published by Grand Central Publishing. Lynch spoke about the project in a statement from the publisher, revealing that this book will be pretty exhaustive so fans need look no further for everything they wanted to know about Lynch.

"I want to get all the right information in one place," Lynch said, "so if someone wants to know something, they can find it here."

Ben Greenberg, the executive editor of Grand Central Publishing, also weighed in on Lynch's approach on the project and how he will mold it.

"His approach to this book is as unique as I would have hoped it to be, and I am fascinated to see where it goes," he said.

According the New York Times, the book should be out sometime in 2017. The book comes at an interesting time as Twin Peaks is also set for a revival on Showtime, although Lynch is not associated with the project.
