Actress Megan Fox will reunite with Transformers director Michael Bay to work on the upcoming CGI film Ninja Turtles, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action picture he is coproducing.

Bay announced his reunion with Fox on Thursday by posting on his official website, "TMNT: We are bringing Megan Fox back into the family."

The two have not worked together in almost three years following Fox's decision to leave the Transformers franchise, reportedly because of her comment comparing Bay's directing style to Hitler's rule. Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was instead cast in the franchise's third film: Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

In the new film Fox will play a human friend of the Turtles', April O'Neil, according to Hollywood Reporter. The Paramount picture Ninja Turtles, which will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman of Wrath of the Titans, will reportedly be based on the original TMNT comic book series that debuted in 1984. The movie is set to start filming in the spring. Paramount and Bay postponed start of production in 2012 because they felt the script was not ready, according to MSN.

Fox graced the cover of Esquire's February 2013 issue, her first magazine cover shoot after giving birth to son Noah on Sept. 27 with husband, actor Brian Austin Green. The 26-year-old compared fame to a magnified version of being bullied in high school, because one is criticized by "millions of people constantly " on a "global scale." She also compared Marilyn Monroe, whom she referred to in past interviews as an icon, to Lindsay Lohan because of their "incredibly difficult" lives and their status as unreliable actresses.

The name of Fox's now 4-month-old son topped the list of most favorite celebrity baby names of 2012.
