Sunday night's Academy Awards may have taken the cake in terms of its humor with its host being Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, whose controversial jokes struck many viewers as too over the top.

MacFarlane kicked off the show with a song about actresses who bared their chests in past movies. He then decked out like a Flying Nun and even played around with sock puppets, amongst other acts throughout the course of the night.

Overall the Academy Awards offered a slew of entertainment, which included a Skyfall performance by Adele followed by a Barbara Streisand number. There was also a musical tribute that reunited the cast of Chicago and Les Miserables and Shirley Bassey was on hand to pay tribute to James Bond.

First Lady Michelle Obama was a part of the Best Picture award, presenting it from via satellite to Argo.
