Harry Styles hoped Jennifer Lawrence would take home an Oscar at the Academy Awards in February and a friend of his said the One Direction singer is also romantically interested in the Silver Linings Playbook actress.

Styles, 19, took to Twitter on Monday and wrote, "Just watched Silver Linings Playbook...I really liked it."

He only saw the movie recently but before the Academy Awards aired on Feb. 24 he tweeted, "Jennifer Lawrence needs to win an Oscar tonight."

After Lawrence, 22, told home the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role - and fell on the steps of the stage as she made her way to the podium - Styles allegedly told his friends that he likes the actress.

"He fell in love with Jennifer after watching her speech at the Oscars. Harry likes goofy girls and thinks it's hilarious that she fell over as she went to accept her award for Best Actress, " a friend told Hollywood Life. "And obviously, like most men, he thinks she's drop-dead gorgeous."

Styles has in the past also complimented other actresses for their work via Twitter. On Jan. 21, he tweeted 22-year-old Emma Watson and told her that he enjoyed watching her film The Perks of Being A Wallflower. 

"@EmWatson I finally saw the second half! That film gets dark, but I liked it a lot," Styles wrote, to which Watson replied: "@Harry_Styles yay!! So happy."

Styles reportedly went to a screening of the film in the United Kingdom in September of 2012 but left in the middle. Watson teased him about it by tweeting at the time, "So @harry_styles - when are you going to see the SECOND half of Perks of being a Wallflower ?! Huh Huh huh ?"

He responded by saying, "oh hiiii.. I'm going to watch it now? On the up side, it was the best first half of a film I've ever seen."
