Cable is expected to be part of the Deadpool sequel and the director explained why.

On Wednesday, IGN released details from director Tim Miller on why he wants Cable to show up in the second installment of the quirky superhero flick. What will likely make him a good fit for the film is how different he is from the central character.

"There's a lot about Cable's history that I like because he's so intertwined with the world of X-Men," Miller said. "Why he was put together for Deadpool- other than that he was in a comic that wasn't selling well and Deadpool was in a comic that wasn't selling well so they put them together- it's the same reason we had Colossus; he's a straight man. And I think Deadpool needs a straight man."

"Cable is the ultimate, archetypal, silent, strong and cynical warrior, which Deadpool is not," Miller added.

It's not yet known who will be playing the role of Cable, but screenwriter Rhett Reese revealed what he's looking for.

"Strength, gravitas, a purposefulness that Deadpool doesn't have," Rhett explained. "Deadpool's kind of got ADD, and we think of Cable as someone who locks onto something and is going to get that thing solved no matter what."

Paul Wernick, another screenwriter, added that the actor who plays Cable needs to be "physically imposing."

A lot of details about the anticipated sequel remain a mystery, but it's being rumored that actress Bella Thorne could play a part after expressing interest in an interview with Moviefone.

When she was asked what superhero or villain she would love to play, she said, "Honestly, if I could play a female version of Deadpool--any character that's a female version of Deadpool--I'm so down!"

Deadpool 2 is expected to hit theaters sometime next year.
