Things might be looking pretty good between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani right now but apparently, that wasn't always the case. In fact, the pop star herself has admitted that one thing Shelton did before they got serious with one another could have turned out to be a huge "turn off," but thankfully worked out to his advantage, instead.

Speaking to Chelsea Handler on her new Netflix show, the former No Doubt singer says that when Shelton approached her to collaborate on a new song together, she definitely had her doubts. Fortunately, it all worked out in the end.

She said, "The story is that he had written this song and sent it to me on my phone. He's like, 'I wrote this song.' And I was like, 'Whoa, what if I don't like it? Huge turnoff."

Stefani added, "I listened to it and thought, Oh, my God, I love this. He said, 'Write the rest of it. There was a time when I was really insecure about writing. There was such a drought of time when I was so insecure. I think when you have a really long year, you start to compete with your own self and get insecure."

The couple has been dating since late last year, after Shelton pulled the plug on his marriage to Miranda Lambert and Stefani announced that she too was separating from her husband of ten years, Gavin Rossdale.
