'Grand Theft Auto VI' News And Release Date: Rockstar To Unveil Blockbuster Title Soon, Finally In Development? [VIDEO]

If one of Rockstar Games' most recent financial reports are anything to go by, it would seem like the highly-anticipated unveiling of the blockbuster game, Grand Theft Auto, would be coming very soon.

While rumors about the game have been emerging for years now, this is the first time that the speculations are fueled by something that actually came from the extremely popular game's publisher. The statement from the developer was very brief, but it does confirm something very significant.

"The studio is hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Rockstar announced.

With the developer's statement, many fans have begun speculating that one of the firm's blockbuster titles would most probably be unveiled soon. Considering this, GTA fans are hoping that the title that Rockstar would announce would be Grand Theft Auto VI.

Of course, Rockstar has not confirmed nor denied the rumors. Thus, these speculations are better off taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, revealing a new installment in its biggest franchise would make sense. Grand Theft Auto V is aging pretty well, but it has already become a pretty old game at this point.

These recent speculations have definitely sparked the interest of fans worldwide, with many speculating that the new game would bring brand new features to the table. In fact, rumors have been abounding that the upcoming game has already started in its initial stages of development.

Considering that the Grand Theft Auto usually takes years to develop before its release, the notion of Rockstar starting development on the game right now makes a lot of sense. With the usual timeline for the development of a GTA game, the release of Grand Theft Auto VI would probably be released sometime between 2018 and 2020.

Avid fans of the hyper-popular franchise have been clamoring for a number of new features that should be added to the game, such as a much larger map, a first-person POV and the possibility of having a female protagonist.

Whether any of these rumored features would make it to Grand Theft Auto VI is up for speculation. Nevertheless, any of these updates would surely make a very compelling follow-up to the esteemed, iconic franchise.
