Richard Madden has a knack for royalty. Game of Thrones' King in the North will be delving into somewhat lighter fare as Disney's Prince Charming.

Madden, who currently plays Robb Stark on the hit HBO show, was officially announced as the dashing Prince for a live action adaptation of Cinderella, according to HitFix.

The film may have hit a rough patch earlier this year after director Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) departed the project after his version was deemed too dark by the studio. However, now that Thor's Kenneth Branagh has taken the helm, the film seems to be back on track, although casting for Cinderella seems to have taken a new direction.

While Cinema Blend reports that Saoirse Ronan, Alicia Vikander, and Gabriella Wilde were originally up for the part, once Branagh took over focus moved to Emma Watson. However, the final actress chosen to done the glass slipper is Downton Abby's Lily James.

Scripted by Aline Brosh McKenna (We Bought a Zoo) and Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass), the film will be given the Disney treatment and will most likely have a lighter feel, a change for the Scottish Madden whose current character is up to his elbows in war and despondency. However, both James and Madden will have to contend with the evil ways of the wicked stepmother, played by Cate Blanchett (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey).
