Samsung might have seemed impregnable during the past few years, but it is at its most vulnerable right now. With the disaster ensuing from the exploding Galaxy Note 7 devices, the South Korean tech giant badly needs to blow consumers away with its next flagship smartphone.

Fortunately for Samsung, it appears that its next flagship device in line, the Galaxy S8, would be up for the task. Though very little information about the upcoming device has been released and confirmed by Samsung, early rumors and renders paint a picture of a device that is sure to blow away smartphone users.

Even prior to the Note 7 debacle, rumors were already high that Samsung would be releasing a device quite unlike any of its previous flagships. For one, the Galaxy S8 is widely speculated to feature a completely new frame, as well as a number of technologies that have never been seen before.

If any, Samsung seems to be putting its chips on the S8, in the hopes that the device will win back customers who were disenchanted with the brand after its most recent flagship phablet literally burnt its way to retirement.

The rumors surrounding the S8 are very encouraging, with early speculations suggesting that the device could feature a bezel-less design, fuelling rumors that the S8 will have edges on all sides of the device. The front of the smartphone is also rumored to be pure glass, with no home button or fingerprint sensor.

Apart from this, the rumored internals of the upcoming Galaxy S8 is also quite formidable, with speculations stating that the smartphone would feature a hybrid Snapdragon/Exynos processor that is far more powerful than those being used by flagships today.

The screen of the Galaxy S8 is also rumored to be the best in the market, with a Quad-HD panel that would be perfect for VR use. With the current thrust of manufacturers and developers towards VR technology, it would not be surprising if the Samsung Galaxy S8 is the perfect virtual reality handset.
