Apple is planning to update its iPad Mini-Series starting with 2017 releases, enhancing the series into another iPad Pro Mini variation.

iPad Mini 4 was announced in September 2015, with remarkable design changes, new features and updated specifications which made it one of the best 8-inch tablets. Now, everyone is waiting for the next model and rumors started about the features and release date.

People can expect this new gadget announcement in Apple's March 2017 event. As written in GameNGuide, the new tablet series will be named 'iPad Pro Mini'. It will be a passage level tablet and will have A9 chipset and 3GB RAM.

This new 'iPad Pro Mini' will be launched along with the latest model of iPad Pro 2. iPad Pro 2 will be launched in a 10.5-inch variant. iPad Pro Mini will be the smaller version of iPad Pro.

According to reports, it will have 8-megapixel primary camera and 1.2-megapixel secondary camera. There will be 7.9 inches Retina IPS Display with 3D Touch and well built by Aluminium body which will make this new device more robust than the previous one.

Reports indicate that the new iPad device will be available in three storage variants. Updating from 16GB version of iPad Mini 4, a new device will most likely incorporate 32GB capacity. Along with this, it will have bigger capacity options 64GB and 128GB.

As written in International Business Times, "Going by the latest Apple upgrades, the iPad Mini 5 is also expected to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack and introduce the USB Type-C ports. As far as battery capacity is concerned, the Apple iPad Mini 5 could sport a similar battery as the iPad Mini 4."

Many are saying that it may be an end in iPad Mini-Series in 2017 and Apple will start new series. Apple may end its 7-inch tablets and introduce a new one. There is no official announcement from Apple yet.

Apple event in March 2017 will clear all the doubts whether new iPad Pro Mini Series will be introduced or Apple will continue with its current iPad Mini Series.
