Rey (Daisy Ridley) was introduced in epic fashion in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and while not much was learned about her backstory, the actress suggested that there might be hidden answers in the film.

The mystery of who Rey's parents might be was one of the biggest questions coming out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While questions will continue to be answered as the sequels are released, Ridley recently hinted that some answers could be in the film already.

"I thought a lot was answered in 'The Force Awakens'," she told TimeOut on Monday. "Then after the screening I went for a drink with my agent and everyone, and we were chatting away and I [realized] that oh, in their minds it's not answered at all!"

Ridley said that these days she still gets everyday people asking about her backstory, even though it is expected to be revealed further in future films.

"I think curiosity is a wonderful thing," Ridley observed. "And I do find it quite funny that people keep asking about it. Just yesterday a guy asked to take a picture with me, and went 'Is Luke your Dad'? And I was like, 'chill out, you'll see'!"

Even though some answers will be revealed, there will be even more questions raised, as these things tend to go.

"I'd love to see the look on people's faces," she admitted, of them finding out the truth. "But with answers come more questions, and there's definitely going to be enough to keep people going for another two years!"

Ridley will return for Star Wars: Episode VIII, set for release on Dec. 15, 2017. The film does not yet have a specific subtitle, with no real indication of when that information will be released. Other cast members returning for the film include Adam Driver (as Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong'o (Maz), Carrie Fisher (General Leia) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
