Zahara Jolie-Pitt, the Ethiopian baby who had been presumed to be an orphan and adopted by the Oscar winner, Angelina, 12 years ago, is now suffering due to her separation from her father and her parents' public conflict.

But she might face more stress now, as her biological mother, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, has got back into action.

The poverty-stricken mother has said that she wanted to talk to her daughter, not take Zahara back. She wanted Zahara to know that her mother is alive and loves her.

Jolie had been given some false information when she adopted Zahara in 2005. She had understood that the baby had no parents due to AIDS. She could not be aware that the mother was still alive, according to Bet.

Zahara's biological mother, Mentewab, was raped. When she was weak and could not make a living, she just left her baby with her mother and escaped at night. Her mother could not look after the malnourished baby either, and so decided to give her up for adoption.

As Mentewab said to Daily Mail, she now just wants to be part of Zahara's life, and exchange a conversation with the daughter. "Please just let me talk to my daughter," she pleaded. "I just want her to know that I am alive and here and long to be able to speak with her."

Mentewab does not want her child back with her, but wants Jolie to get full custody of Zahara after splitting with her estranged husband, Brad Pitt. "I do not want my daughter back but want just to be in contact with her and be able to call her up and talk with her," she said.

Mentewab is grateful to the Hollywood couple for giving full care and a lot of love to her child: "Angelina has been more of a mother to her than I have ever been," she said. "She has been with her since she was a baby, but that does not mean I do not miss her."

In all these years, after her daughter went with Angelina, Mentewab never got any card, letter or any form of communication from Jolie. Still, she does not blame the millionaire actress. Mentewab is not angling for money or fame, but only wants some of her daughter's time.

"I would like Zahara to know she has a mother who loves her as much as Angelina," she said. "We all die sometime and before I die, I would like her to know about me and that she has a family here in Ethiopia... I would ask Angelina to let me speak with her. I do not think it is too much to ask."
