Ashton Kutcher was one of Twitter's first break-through celebrities, but he said he now thinks the social media platform is broken at the CTIA wireless industry trade show in Las Vegas on May 23, according to CNN.

"For lack of a better verb, the media came and @&$#%! [expletive deleted] it up," Kutcher said. "When I first got on, it felt like the democratization of media. Now it just feels like media."

Kutcher, who plays Steve Jobs in the upcoming film Jobs, joined Twitter early on. He became the first user to gain one million followers. That number continues to increase. He now has roughly 14.3 million and he is one of the most-followed users on the site.

The actor said using Twitter has become less personal.

Mila Kunis' boyfriend said that Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, created the social media platform to make communication poweful as things were happening.

"Now it's just a bunch of companies and people constantly pitching crap," said Kutcher.

He said, however, that he believed the network will improve over time. Kutcher thinks the next phase of Twitter will be connect appliances that tweet. For example, coffee machines could send tweets to let users know when their coffee is done.

Kutcher also warned television broadcasters to be wary of Amazon, Netflix (NFLX) and other tech giants and that the TV networks have time to determine how to supersede them.

The Two and a Half Men star said TV consistently does better than Internet TV because advertisers put there money there and the content is better. TV networks may meet competition when the Internet is matching TV advertising dollars.

Jobs, directed by Joshua Michael Stern, also stars Dermot Mulroney, James Woods and Matthew Modine and is scheduled to premiere June 2013.
