The Human Centipede III has added Oscar nominee Eric Roberts to its casting list.

The film's producer, Ilona Six, announced Wednesday that Roberts will appear in the third film of the controversial horror franchise, titled The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence).

Roberts joins previously cast actors Dieter Laser, who appeared in the first two films, and Laurence R. Harvey, who starred in the second film. Making their debut with Roberts are former porn actress and Charlie Sheen "goddess" Bree Olson and character actors Tommy "Tiny" Lister (The Fifth Element) and Robert LaSardo (Death Race).

Roberts was nominated for an Academy Award in 1986 for his performance in Runaway Train.  The 57-year-old brother of Julia Roberts has appeared in a plethora of independent features over the years, though his most recent prominent role was in a guest spot in CSI.

Other recent prominent roles include The Dark Knight and The Expendables. He has also appeared in music videos for Mariah Carey's We Belong Together and The Killers' Mr. Brightside.

Tom Six returns to direct The Human Centipede III after writing and directing the first two. He will also be starring in the third film as himself.

Tom is particularly excited for audience reception on this third film, saying that it will "make the last one look like a Disney film. We're going to shoot the third film entirely in America, and it's going to be my favorite... It's going to upset a lot of people."

The director promises that The Human Centipede III will have "a strange happy ending." He added, "You will get some answers to lasting questions. I'm shooting in America and it will end with a strange happy ending. I want to end my series, cause I don't want to do another Centipede ever again."

The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) is scheduled to premiere in 2013. Filming is currently in process.
