Katharine McPhee was just caught kissing music producer David Foster, and now rumors are swirling that the singer may be using Foster for publicity.

Just weeks after the former American Idol contestant released her fifth studio album, I Fall in Love Too Easily, she and Foster stepped out for a lunch date at Italian restaurant E Baldi in Beverly Hills, California, where they were photographed sharing a kiss.

“When Kat talks about David, her face lights up,” a source told Us Weekly magazine on Dec. 1. “She’s really so happy. They’re actually so sweet together.”

According to the report, 33-year-old McPhee and her much older boyfriend, 68-year-old Foster, hide their romance for months, but now they are going public. As fans of the couple may recall, McPhee and Foster were first seen getting cozy with each other in May and appeared to heat up in September, when they attended an event together in Canada.

“She really likes him,” the source explained. “David is really charming. The age difference might seem substantial to some, but they are really cute together and it makes sense.”

That said, another report claims McPhee and Foster don't have the best intentions with each other.

“David and Katharine are conspiring to create a public buzz about their relationship,” a source told Radar Online. “Katharine is desperate to stay famous.”

The insider also claimed that Foster is desperate to return to reality television. Although Foster continues to see success in the world of music, the insider suggested that he was missing the fame he saw while appearing on episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alongside his former wife, Yolanda Hadid.

Foster also appeared on Princes of Malibu with his other ex-wife, Linda Thompson. As fans may recall, the series featured Foster's step sons, Brody and Brandon Jenner, as well as Brody's Hills co-star, Spencer Pratt. The series aired for just one season in summer 2015.

Foster went on to marry Hadid in November 2011 before calling it quits with the model turned reality star in December 2015. Then in the months that followed, viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills saw their relationship came to an end on season 5.

Foster has been married four times and shares five daughters with his ex-wives. He's also the grandfather of seven kids.
