Twitter went into an uproar on Thursday, Dec. 7 when the image of Stacey Dash was seen on the poster of Damon Dash and Kanye West’s new film, Honor Up.

Stacey's Internalized Racism

When the actress switched career lanes three years ago and became a conservative news commentator for Fox News, she often made ludicrous remarks about the Black race that many found offensive and cruel. When her image appeared on the two hip-hop moguls' movie advertisement, social media users wonder why she signed up for such a role since she often discredits Black culture and everything that comes from it.

Her Previous Career History

It is odd, given the fact that her career highlights have been her working on shows, movies, or music videos that were geared toward people of color. Over the years, however, she has distanced herself from all things Black, hence her tweet that she published on the subject:

“No. I am not. I’ll let the lawyers handle it,” she revealed to them. It appears that Dash shouldn’t waste her time doing so because many Twitter users pointed out the Clueless star is featured in the film's trailer.

Therefore, Dash had to authorize her participation in filming the movie and being photographed for its promotional material.

Her Trap Queen Feature

Dash’s actions and response do not come as a surprise, though. This is the same woman who claims Black History Month is outdated and no longer needed.

She also believes award shows that solely recognize Black musicians and their work promote segregation, which is false. That's because the latter was utilized by the Jim Crow law system, a creation of white supremacist values and has nothing to do with acknowledging the achievements of Black people.

Honor Up will premiere in February 2018.
