Lala Kent and James Kennedy have been through some hard times with one another but they're still good friends.

Earlier this week, ahead of Kent's return to Vanderpump Rules on Monday night, the reality star and aspiring actress shared an old photo of herself and Kennedy and shared the funny story behind it.

"That time [James Kennedy] told me I was a 'basic b***h,' so I had a moment with my higher power so I wouldn’t go to prison forever. James, we have been through some s**t. Cheers to another season of craziness and hugs," she wrote.

In the photo, Kent was seen taking a deep breath as Kennedy sat beside her.

As Vanderpump Rules fans will recall, Kent and Kennedy embarked on a short-lived romance with one another during season four after Kent began working at SUR Restaurant as a waitress. SUR is the West Hollywood restaurant owned by Lisa Vanderpump that the reality series is based around.

Following their romance, Kent and Kennedy's relationship appeared to become strained after Kent took a step back from filming and began to keep the majority of her personal life away from the Vanderpump Rules cameras. At that time, Kent was in a new relationship with her current boyfriend, who is rumored to be movie producer Randall Emmett, and didn't want to expose the romance on the show.

Earlier this year, Kennedy made it clear that despite their past issues, he and Kent remain close.

"Lala and I still remain very close friends. She's very outspoken. The girls obviously have their own insecurities about Lala. She was just the bold one that didn't really care what these particular girls thought," Kennedy told The Daily Dish. "She wouldn't do that to all girls 'cause she is a girls' girl at the end of the day. She's got her girlfriends and she is dope like that. But then she also knows how to f*** with people if they're very easy to f*** with."

During the fifth season of Vanderpump Rules, Kent was accused of dating a married man and because of the speculation around her relationship, she quit the show. Then, months later, after reuniting with her costars at the Season 5 reunion, Kent joined filming on Season 6.
