Trey Songz breaks his silence on Twitter to deny claims that he physically assaulted a woman at a party. He was taken into police custody hours later.

Trey Songz Goes To Jail

Songz, who made headlines for calling out Raven Symone recently, was arrested on a domestic violence felony charge after a woman, recently identified as Andrea Buera, said he hit her in the face. The incident occurred during the NBA’s popular All-Star weekend in Los Angeles last month.

Songz turned himself in and Shawn Holley, the head of his legal team, was by his side. Songz was released on a $50,000 bond just hours later.

Singer Says He's Innocent And Being Used

Prior to going to the LAPD station, he publicly spoke out for the first time on the ordeal. He tweeted that while his lawyers advised him to stay silent, he had to break his silence and deny the woman’s claims.

He accused the woman of lying to him and hinted that she was trying to extort him. He ended by asking fans to stand by him.

As for the alleged incident, Songz reportedly became livid when he saw Buera getting too close to another guy at a party in Hollywood Hills during the All-Star weekend. The two are said to have gotten into an argument that led to Songz allegedly getting physical. The woman left to receive treatment and filed a report with officials.

Trey Songz's Alleged Victim Speaks

Songz’s tweet and arrest came just days after Buera, who is represented by Lisa Bloom, also publicly broke her silence on the alleged incident. She said she has known the singer for roughly three years.

She demanded an apology from Songz for the alleged harm he caused her. She said there were a handful of witnesses who saw Songz get so violent that she suffered a concussion.

She asked the bystanders to break their silence and share what they saw. Interestingly enough, the singer’s lawyer said witnesses would disagree with Buera’s side of the story.

Bloom also spoke during the press conference last week and accused Songz of paying someone to find Buera’s family and close ones. Bloom urged Songz not to go that route. She said they have yet to file a civil suit against Songz but have not completely ruled out the option.

It’s not clear what’s next for the singer amid his legal troubles. As of now, a judge has granted the woman a restraining order against Songz.
