It looks like Selma Blair's "joke" about Cameron Diaz's alleged retirement was semi-true. The 45-year-old actress and mother of two officially confirmed her departure but stated that she would be up for a sequel to her raunchy film, The Sweetest Thing.

Will There Be A Remake?

Fans of both Blair and Diaz know that they co-starred in the movie along with Christina Applegate. The trio recently reunited when they sat down with Entertainment Weekly for an interview. When asked if they would ever join forces again and remake the 2002 melodrama, all three of women revealed that they would actually be down for it.

"I mean, I'm down. I'm literally doing nothing," Diaz claimed.

Applegate agreed with the model and stated that she would also come out of retirement as she has been focusing on being a mom.

"I'm semi-retired, I haven't worked for years. I'm a mom, that's what we do. So I'm around, man," Applegate explained.

The film focuses on Christina Walters (Diaz) as she avoids searching for Mr. Right, but focuses on Mr. Right Now. However, that is until she unexpectedly meets a man only for him to disappear the next day.

Walters then decides to break the rules and go on a round trip with her friend Courtney (Applegate) to find him, but they have several wild and hilarious misadventures along the way.

Diaz Decides To Retire

Earlier this month, Blair seemed to put her foot in her mouth after she stated that Diaz was done with acting during her interview with Metro News UK.

The Hellboy star later took to Twitter to explain that it was just a joke and that Diaz wasn't retiring, even though she confirmed that she is.

Though her fans might be sad to know that the news is true, Diaz's retirement was not in vain. A source close to the Knight and Day star claimed that the actress decided to step out of the limelight to focus on her relationship with her husband, guitarist, Benji Madden.

The source further added that marriage really agrees with the author and that Madden came at the perfect time.
