After 25 years, The Sandlot cast reunite to share how the iconic film opened doors for them, and pretty sure the '90s kids felt nostalgic.

The cast got together in an interview with Today Show to talk about The Sandlot. Those present were Marty York (Alan "Yeah Yeah" McClennan), Brandon Quintin Adams (Kenny DeNunez), Tom Guiry (Scotty Smalls), Patrick Renna (Ham Porter), Shane Obedzinski (Timmy Timmons), Chauncey Leopardi (Squints Palledorous), Victor DiMattia (Tommy Repeat), and director David Mickey Evans. Missing from the bunch was Mike Vitar, who played Benny Rodriguez.

Perks

Even after more than two decades, the cast proved they're still on top of the game when they played baseball. Apart from this, the cast admitted that The Sandlot still has an effect in their lives. For York, this meant that he gets to go places for free.

"It's been crazy. I can't walk through a Las Vegas casino without someone yelling 'Yeah-Yeah!'" York explained.

For Evans, who also wrote and narrated The Sandlot, it was more than that. He underlined the experience and joy of making the 1993 film.

"The film was made with the same amount of love that people have for it, and it was the greatest summer of our lives," Evans said.

The Sandlot didn't just impact the cast, it also created an influence to people. In 2015, Major League Basketball players took their homage for the film a notch higher when they recreated a scene from the movie.

Brett Gardner played Scotty Smalls. Others who played parts on the video were C.C. Sabathia, Chase Headley, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dellin Betances, Didi Gregorius, and Brian McCann. But it wasn't just the baseball legends who took a trip down memory lane.

The Sandlot also gained another fan from one of the NBA stars, Kevin Durant. The basketball player's display photo on the microblogging platform Twitter is Renna's Ham.

The group also shared that while the film has earned a lot of fans, their children has yet to appreciate their roles. Renna narrated he showed his kid the film, but that the boy was fond of Moana. Leopardi also let his daughter watch the film, but she thought of him "as a dork."

The Sandlot revolves around a baseball-loving group of kids who does everything to get their ball back from a neighbor dog they call The Beast. Set in 1962, it tackles how they manage to do funny and out-of-this-world efforts just to get the ball from an enormous English Mastiff, which had already become a legend in the neighborhood.
