Sasha Pieterse and Hudson Sheaffer made it official this past weekend. The Pretty Little Liars star wed her longtime beau in an idyllic ceremony.

A Fairytale Romance

The happy couple tied the knot on Sunday in a fairytale-like castle setting, in Glaslough village in County Monaghan, Ireland.

Pieterse wore a custom Christian Siriano gown for her big day. The 22-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress and her 28-year-old beau got engaged back in December 2015.

Pieterse has been very open over the past few years about how Sheaffer helped her through one of the most difficult parts of her life.

The actress gained almost 70 pounds over just two years due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Pieterse opened up to PEOPLE last year about how supportive Sheaffer had been.

"He's incredible. I've known him for so long, and it's so incredible having someone like that supporting you and knowing without a doubt that they are going to be there no matter what happens," she said.

Sharing Her Story

Pieterse told E! News back in September that she was relieved to be able to share her struggle publicly. She hoped she could help other women to understand what's going on with their bodies.

"It really is about awareness ... I really want women who have it to figure it out, because it ... can lead to ovarian cancer, infertility, [and] breast cancer," she warned.

On what kept her relationship with Sheaffer healthy and happy over the years, the actress explained that it all came down to communication and mutual respect.

"It really, truly is reciprocated and what we originated our relationship on was honesty, commitment, being loyal, being supportive, making sure that the communication is open enough and obviously love," she said.

At the start of the month, Pieterse posted the couple's marriage license on Instagram, along with a smiling shot of the two of them.

Sharing The Moment

She also utilized Instagram to announce their engagement in December 2015, when Sheaffer popped the question.

Pieterse shared a photo of her long-time beau getting down on one knee, and captioned the pic that it was the best day of her life. Likewise, Sheaffer posted a picture gushing over how she said yes to him.

The couple kept their wedding plans mostly under wraps, though Pieterse did hint that the big day was coming up soon, as she noted it was their wedding month in a recent Instagram post.

The actress is slated to appear in Pretty Little Liars spinoff The Perfectionists, which hits Freeform next year.
