Things are clearly getting serious between Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus. The happy couple steps out for a dinner date with her parents.

Enjoying A Casual Night Out

The double date with Shookus's parents, Christine and Robert, happened Saturday night. Judging by the happy looks on all four faces, everything seems to have gone well.

The 45-year-old Justice League actor Affleck and Saturday Night Live's Shookus headed to upscale French-Asian restaurant Cassia in Santa Monica, with the pair, looking casual in similar ensembles. Shookus wore a peach sweater and nude suede bomber jacket while Affleck chose a Gucci leather bomber jacket and jeans.

The group was snapped laughing and having a good time while they ate for about two hours, sitting out on the patio.

"Ben was in a great mood. Lindsay seemed very happy to have her parents here," confirmed an eyewitness.

The witness also confirmed that Affleck is clearly very fond of Shookus's parents and that they shared a family style dinner. The minted Hollywood superstar naturally paid once the check came, too.

An insider confirms that Shookus, her parents, and her young daughter from a previous marriage are all currently staying at Affleck's new Pacific Palisades home. They even went on a hike together Sunday.

Launched Into The Public Eye

Shookus, a New York-based producer on the hit sketch show, was catapulted into the public consciousness about a year ago when news of her hookup with the Hollywood star first leaked.

She's his first major relationship since Affleck split from ex-wife and mother to his children, Jennifer Garner. Shookus told Elle how it felt to suddenly be in the spotlight.

"My entire career has been behind the camera, and that's definitely where I'm most comfortable. ... Being considered a public figure honestly makes me laugh," she admitted.

Shookus initially came under fire when the relationship became public due to the intense swell of public love for Garner. Thankfully, it was all worth it in the end.

"During Ben and Jennifer's split, Lindsay truly felt villainized. Every day she spent with Ben out in the world for people to see felt like another day of public scrutiny, but her love for Ben was worth it. They both learned to stick by each other during those painful months," a source advised.

Shookus has even been helping Affleck battle his highly publicized issues with sobriety. According to sources close to the couple, they're taking things slow for the moment but are definitely enjoying spending time together. The two met when he appeared on SNL.

The actor shares two daughters and a son with Garner while Shookus has just one child. Affleck and Garner have remained on good terms since their split, with reconciliation rumors swirling earlier this year. The actress even sent her ex a Father's Day tribute on social media last week.
