Bob Saget's cause of death was reportedly not uncommon, experts said.

The authorities formally released the autopsy result one month after Saget was found dead on January 9. The actor's family also addressed the development in a statement, saying that the late "Full House" star suffered a head trauma that caused his death.

While his death shocked people, medical experts recently weighed in and explained how the accident was common.

Emergency physician Dr. Leana Wen said Bob Saget's cause of death was "extremely tragic but not uncommon." She noted that more than 61,000 Americans die from traumatic brain injury, and most of these cases are due to falls.

"A fracture in the back of the skull could lead to fractures in other parts of the skull. That kind of force could also lead to bleeding inside the brain. Because the skull is an enclosed structure, there is nowhere for the blood to go except to press on the brain. That kind of pressure is what leads to unconsciousness and eventually to death," she said.

The Unanswered Question About Bob Saget's Death

Amid people's queries about the actor's passing, Dr. Joshua Marcus of Nuvance Health shared his own question and said that the injuries Saget suffered from suggest more than "benign head trauma."

Per the medical expert, the result of the autopsy made people question whether he had a major fall from the stairs, a car accident, and other unfortunate events.

Despite that, Saget's injuries around his eye sockets seemingly led Dr. Marcus to have second thoughts.

"There are people who fall from standing and have things that look just like a traumatic injury. The thing that's tougher to track here are the fractures. To have a fracture, you have to have enough blunt force on a bone - directly on a bone - in order to fracture it," he explained.

He said it is hard to fracture one's orbit without traumatizing the aforesaid bones.

The idea of the actor's decision to sleep it away is also possible. Both doctors said they have seen patients who suffered from the same injuries then died within minutes. Some people made it since they sought medical attention "in time."

Unfortunately, in Saget's case, he slept it off and never woke up.

Aside from head trauma, Saget also tested positive for COVID-19 upon his death.
