Many fans of "Sex and the City" have missed Kim Cattrall's character in the sequel series, but even though she's not around, the production never forgets her character as they added her in some of the episodes.

More recently, "And Just Like That" lead star Sarah Jessica Parker seemingly addresses her alleged feud with her old friend.

In an interview with "Watch What Happens Live" with her good pal Andy Cohen on Monday evening, SJP shares her true feelings about Cattrall's absence.

For context, according to the New York Post, Cattrall refused to return to the sequel series as her role Samantha Jones due to her feud with Parker.

Andy Cohen said he's impressed how the show's production addressed their former lead star's absence.

To which Parker responded with, "the actress that played the role is no longer playing that role, but people aren't absent from your life when you don't want them to be."

SJP, without naming Cattrall, noted how the plotline "mimicked many friendships" that underwent a lot of struggles and challenges, but they wanted to remain "connected in a way because it's too painful."

The actress also commended Michael Patrick King, the HBO Max series' showrunner and head writer, and his group's idea to add Samantha Jones in the storyline despite Cattrall's absence.

At the time of this writing, Kim Cattrall has yet to address the recent interview publicly.

Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About Mr. Big's Death Controversy

In the first episode of the show, Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw, went home after watching the recital only to discover that her husband, John Preston, played by the embattled actor Chris Noth, is struggling with a heart attack.

After the episode aired, many fans were outraged as Bradshaw never called 911 to save her husband's life, but instead, she embraced him during his final moments.

Parker revealed the scene was a "suspended animation" where a specific character's surroundings stop at the moment, but it doesn't stop her from "taking care of somebody in a fashion that you would want."

Cynthia Nixon Opens Up About Kim Cattrall's Absence

SJP isn't the only cast member who addressed their old friend's absence in the show as Cynthia Nixon also appeared in the same late-night show.

Speaking to Cohen, Nixon noted how she loved how they "addressed it head on in the first minute."

"I loved how there began to be layers of it. There's the thing you tell Bitsy Von Muffling and then there's the way you talk about it amongst each other," Nixon added.
