Traipsing through well-treaded territory, A24 is embarking on a first for the popular film studio by making a musical. But that's not the real news here. The real story is what said musical will be about, who will be starring, and what exactly they decided to title the project.

F*cking Identical Twins will be a musical iteration of The Parent Trap, which has been done time and time again, though not quite like this. The rated R (that's right. R!) melodic romp, according to the logline, reunites "two business adversaries who realize they're identical twin brothers and decide to switch places in order to reunite their divorced parents and become a family again."

And it gets more wonderfully bizarre from there.

The film is set to star Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live), Nathan Lane (Only Murders In The Building), Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), and, the most interesting curve-ball, hip-hop's own Megan Thee Stallion. Directed by Larry Charles (Borat), the idea came from Comedy Central's The Opposition's Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, who will also star in the film, which came from the pair's stage show. Collaborating on the music with them is Karl Saint Lucy and music supervisor Fiora Cutler (La La Land).

For a first outing into the realm of musicals, A24 seems to be going completely outside the box to be as off-the-wall original with the production as possible, and as a person who is not entirely into musicals all that much, everything about this sparks my interest.

Which says a lot. Trust me.

There is no release date set at this time for F*cking Identical Twins.
